About Troop 463
A Legacy of Leadership Since 1963
Troop 463 has been developing tomorrow's leaders for over 60 years in the heart of Montgomery County. We're proud to call Holy Cross Church in Garrett Park our home base, where we gather every Monday at 7:30 PM to plan adventures, build skills, and forge lifelong friendships.
The Troop 463 Experience
Our scouts don't just attend meetings—they embark on a journey of discovery. Each month, we head into the great outdoors for weekend camping trips that challenge and inspire. From the snow-covered trails of the Catoctin Mountains in winter to summer canoe expeditions down the Shenandoah, our scouts experience the full spectrum of outdoor adventures.
Throughout the year, scouts can look forward to:
- Monthly weekend campouts in diverse environments
- Summer camp at hidden gems like Heritage Reservation
- High-adventure treks for older scouts (backpacking, canoeing, climbing)
- Community service projects that make a real difference
- Advancement opportunities from Tenderfoot to Eagle
- Leadership training that translates to real-world success
Join Our Patrol
Whether you're crossing over from Cub Scouts or joining us with no prior scouting experience, there's a place for you in Troop 463. Our senior scouts and adult leaders create a welcoming environment where new members quickly find their footing and their passion.
Parents often tell us that watching their child transform through scouting—gaining confidence, developing skills, and building character—is one of their most rewarding experiences.
The Next Step
Visit us any Monday night at 7:30 PM at Holy Cross Church to see what we're all about. No reservation needed—just stop by and discover why generations of families have chosen Troop 463 as their scouting home.
