Welcome !

Welcome to Troop 463!
Troop 463 has served the communities surrounding Garrett Park, Maryland for nearly 50 years. We meet on Mondays from 7:30pm-9pm during the school year at Holy Cross Church on Strathmore Ave. Our goal is to deliver a hands-on experience of leadership training through a program that combines high adventure opportunities and scout skills with a deep respect for community, country, and the environment. Troop 463 is a safe and welcoming environment where every boy is welcome. For the security of the boys and their families, this website is restricted to individuals who have joined Troop 463. Learn more about the troop by contacting Scoutmaster Michael Casassa at mpcasassa@yahoo.com.

Eagle Court of Honor - June 5, 6pm, Lewis Hall

Posted on Apr 19 2016 - 9:09pm

Mark your calendars! On Sunday June 5 at 6pm at Lewis Hall we're having an Eagle Court of Honor. Three of our Scouts have advanced to Eagle this year - Antonio, Victor and Mark. We plan a grand event to celebrate their achievements, to thank our community for supporting them, and to inspire younger Scouts to stick with it until they too become Eagle Scouts. All Scouts, parents, and friends of Troop 463 are urged to attend this memorable occasion which will include dinner, guest speakers, and a special ceremony. We hope you will be there! More information and request for RSVP to come...MrC

Rock Creek Cleanup

Posted on Apr 14 2016 - 5:52pm

This weekend on Saturday we will be doing the annual Rock Creek Cleanup from 9:00 - 12:00. It will be by the Lindon Oak next to 355. We will be picking up trash of all kinds so wear long pants and sleeves, as well as sturdy shoes.  Bring work gloves if you can. Make sure you have a water bottle! At 12:00, Mr. Casassa will bring pizza and we will have a picnic. This is a very fun thing to do, as it's fascinating to see what stuff gets thrown away (that may be just for me though). We have proved in the past that we're able to tackle this hard area so it's been assigned to us. Hope to see you all there. - Peter

Congratulations to our new leaders

Posted on Apr 12 2016 - 10:19am

On April 11, 2016 the Scouts elected a new SPL and PLs, and a new ASPL and APLs were appointed. This new Patrol Leader Council will lead us for the next six months, including developing our plans for outings 2016-2017, and leading us at summer camp. Thank you and congratulations on a job well done to the leaders who served us or the previous term, and thanks to everyone who volunteered to be a leader.

The photos from the Whitetail Ski Trip have been posted to the troop website: http://troop463.org/image/tid/1107

It was a warm, sunny day for skiing and our Scouts honed their skills and learned a few new skills (including jumps for some!).
